Role Description
We are seeking a skilled Senior Corporate Counsel to serve as the primary in-house legal resource for the organization. This attorney will report to the Chief Customer Officer and will provide practical, business-oriented legal support on a wide range of matters including:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated mid-level attorney who is comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment and owning day-to-day legal execution, while continuing to grow in scope and judgment.
Responsibilities

Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including customer contracts, vendor agreements, reseller and partner agreements, and NDAs.

Partner closely with product, sales, finance, HR, business development, and engineering to provide practical legal guidance that supports business execution.

Advise on intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, and copyright protections.

Develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, fallback language, and standard legal processes.

Advise on legal considerations related to product development, feature launches, AI usage, data practices, and privacy-by-design.

Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including privacy (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), data security, consumer protection requirements, and employment laws.

Support and participate in lobbying (federal and state level) efforts where applicable.

Advise and support the People team by ensuring appropriate documentation, investigations, and compliance frameworks regarding personnel matters, employment policies, equity programs, and workplace compliance.

Coordinate with and engage specialized external counsel as necessary.

Manage and coordinate responses to litigation matters and subpoenas, including document preservation, discovery obligations, and evidence management.

Identify, assess, and help mitigate legal and business risk across the organization.

Support corporate governance activities, including board materials, corporate filings, entity management, shareholder relations, and internal approvals.

Provide guidance and coordinate legal support in areas where the company engages specialized counsel, including but not limited to:

Mergers and acquisitions (e.g., due diligence support)

International expansion and regulatory/compliance considerations
-
Support improvements to legal operations, including contract workflows and document management.

Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on legal best practices.

Serve as the primary legal advisor to the executive team and board of directors.

Build, manage, and scale the legal department to support company growth and evolving strategic objectives.
Qualifications
-
J.D. from an accredited law school and currently licensed, in good standing, with at least one U.S. state bar (New York or eligibility for in-house counsel registration preferred).

3β7 years of post-JD legal experience, with meaningful commercial contracting experience (prior in-house or technology/SaaS experience preferred).

Ability to manage contracts independently and exercise sound judgment on routine and moderately complex matters.

Working knowledge of privacy and data security frameworks (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, etc.).

Exposure to international or cross-border matters preferred.

Comfortable advising on issues across a broad range of disciplines (commercial, product, corporate, compliance, and employment).

Strong communication skills and the ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, business-friendly guidance.

Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
