Role Description
The Compliance Officer supports the organization's compliance program by providing guidance, oversight, and risk-based recommendations for the purpose of ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, contracts, and company policies. This role collaborates with business units to monitor compliance and implement risk management strategies across the organization.
This is a remote position that is based in Columbus, OH. This role may require occasional in-person attendance at work-related events at the discretion of management.
Compensation: $60,000+ annually, commensurate with experience
What Youβll Do:

Provide guidance on business unit policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Maintain documentation and records of policies and procedures to support audit activities

Assist business units with regulatory reviews and examinations
-
Assess products, compliance, and operational risks and develop risk management strategies

Manage Compliance Hotline to track and investigate reports of potential violations
-
Coordinate and manage deliverables to regulatory agencies
-
Work with assigned business units to ensure compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements
-
Participate in periodic internal reviews and audits to ensure compliance procedures are followed

Evaluate third parties (e.g., service providers and vendors) to ensure they understand and can comply with applicable laws and regulations
-
Serve as liaison with regulators and manage regulatory relationships
-
Maintain comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to Financial Services and Credit Reporting industries

Identify issues and recommend process improvements and efficiencies

Develop technical documentation including process charts, flowcharts, and business cases

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required

Experience developing technical documentation including process charts, flowcharts, and business cases
-
Proven ability to identify issues and implement process improvements and efficiencies
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and written/verbal communication skills

Strong analytical skills with ability to critically analyze data

Ability to communicate tactfully and gain consensus from management

Exceptional organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to effectively manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Team player with strong collaborative and conflict resolution skills

Experience with or willingness to learn AI tools and emerging technologies
Requirements

Bachelor's degree from accredited institution

Privacy certification from the IAPP
-
Experience in compliance, vendor management, audit, quality assurance, consumer assistance, or dispute handling within consumer reporting or financial services industry

Experience developing and maintaining policies, procedures, training materials, and guidance documents
-
Knowledge of FCRA, GLBA, UDAAP, and other relevant financial services regulations
