[Hiring] Compliance Attorney @24-MAG

Role Description

We are sharing a specialised consulting opportunity for experienced U.S.-based Compliance Attorneys with strong expertise in compliance law, regulatory research, legal-document analysis, legal writing, and U.S. regulatory standards to contribute to an advanced legal AI training and evaluation project. Selected professionals will review compliance materials, analyse complex regulatory scenarios, evaluate AI-generated legal content, and provide structured feedback grounded in current U.S. compliance law. No prior experience in AI is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Compliance Analysis & Regulatory Research
  • Analyse complex compliance issues and apply current U.S. legal and regulatory standards
  • Identify material obligations, risks, ambiguities, and legally significant facts
  • Research statutes, regulations, guidance, and other relevant authorities
  • Validate legal assertions against applicable regulatory frameworks
  • Distinguish clear requirements from issues requiring further interpretation
• Legal Review, Writing & Scenario Development
  • Review and annotate compliance documents for accuracy, completeness, and legal relevance
  • Identify inconsistencies, unsupported conclusions, or potential regulatory pitfalls
  • Draft clear legal analyses, rationales, and responses to complex compliance scenarios
  • Develop realistic questions and case scenarios testing regulatory interpretation
  • Translate sophisticated compliance concepts into concise professional language
• AI Evaluation & Quality Review
  • Review AI-generated compliance content for legal accuracy and logical consistency
  • Identify missed risks, weak reasoning, or unsupported conclusions
  • Provide actionable feedback supporting model improvement
  • Apply consistent legal-quality standards across evaluation tasks
  • Collaborate remotely with project leads and technical specialists on nuanced regulatory issues

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school
• Active attorney licence in good standing
• 3–15 years of recent, substantive experience practising compliance law in the United States
• Currently practising in compliance law
• U.S.-based
• Strong knowledge of U.S. compliance and regulatory frameworks
• Demonstrated legal-document analysis and regulatory-research experience
• Strong legal writing, critical-thinking, and analytical skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to explain complex compliance issues clearly
• Judicial clerkship experience is preferred
• Law-school teaching, legal-writing instruction, or legal-journal editorial experience is advantageous
• No prior AI-training or model-evaluation experience is required

Requirements

• Independent contractor engagement
• Fully remote
• Compensation: $90–$150/hour
• Applicants must be U.S.-based and currently practising compliance law
• Work will involve compliance-law analysis, regulatory research, legal-document review, scenario development, legal writing, annotation, and AI-output evaluation
• Assignments may involve legal documents, regulatory materials, compliance scenarios, model outputs, and structured evaluation tasks
• Collaboration will occur remotely with project leads and technical specialists
• Project scope, workload, regulatory topics, and evaluation standards may evolve depending on project requirements
• Work must be completed without using confidential or privileged information belonging to any employer, client, law firm, institution, or other third party
