Role Description
We are looking for a C-level leader who can set the strategic vision, build the frameworks for scale, and be a genuine business partner to the leadership team. The CLO will own the full legal and regulatory agenda: from licensing strategy and corporate structure to M&A, IP, and compliance. You will act as GR8 Tech's primary legal interface with the managing company and other group assets. This is an opportunity to build a legal function designed for the next phase of an ambitious, fast-moving international business.

Define and execute the legal function's multi-year strategy, aligned to company growth and expansion goals.

Serve as the primary legal advisor to the board.

Build a high-performing legal team β set clear KPIs and metrics, develop talent, and create a culture of accountability and excellence.

Represent GR8 Tech's legal interests at the group level.

Corporate Structure & M&A

Drive the evolution of corporate structure β optimising for regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and strategic flexibility.

Lead or support M&A activity: due diligence, structuring, negotiation, and integration from a legal perspective.

Manage group-level legal entities, intercompany arrangements, and cross-border legal risk.

Commercial, Contracts & IP

Oversee contract management across the business β drive standardisation, automation, and reduction of cycle times without sacrificing quality.

Protect and develop the company's intellectual property portfolio: trademarks, licensing agreements, technology rights.

Provide pragmatic legal support to commercial teams, balancing risk management with speed of execution.

Regulatory & Licensing

Own the company's global licensing strategy β identify opportunities, manage applications, and maintain existing licences across multiple regulated jurisdictions.

Monitor regulatory developments across target markets; translate risk and opportunity into clear, actionable positions.

Lead the company's relationship with regulators, ensuring GR8 Tech is seen as a credible and cooperative regulated entity.

Compliance, AML & Risk

Establish and maintain a comprehensive legal risk dashboard β identify, manage, and mitigate key risks across the business.

Own KYC/KYB processes from a legal and regulatory standpoint; lead improvements for efficiency and compliance quality.

Drive AML, data protection, and responsible gambling compliance frameworks in line with applicable law and best practice.

Operational Efficiency & Innovation

Lead the adoption of legal technology and AI tools to automate routine work and increase the function's overall output and quality.

Build a legal function metrics framework β measuring what matters and demonstrating value to the business.

Optimise external legal spend: manage relationships with outside counsel, ensure cost-efficiency, and reduce dependency on external providers over time.
Qualifications
-
7+ years of legal experience, with at least 2-3 years in a senior leadership role (CLO, General Counsel, etc).

Proven background in iGaming, forex, fintech or another high-risk industry.

Demonstrated experience with multi-jurisdictional licensing and regulatory engagement.

Track record of building and leading legal teams: setting structures and processes, developing and managing people.

Strong background in contract management and corporate structuring, M&A expertise, tax structuring experience.

Fluent in English.

Strong ownership mindset and ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Resilient, pragmatic, and ready to build for the long term.

Comfortable driving change, accelerating processes, and balancing speed with quality and risk management.
Nice-to-have

Experience with iGaming-specific licensing (offshore and local regulations).

Background in tax structuring or cross-border taxation in an international group context.

Familiarity with AML, KYC/KYB frameworks, and player protection regulation.

Exposure to AI/legal tech adoption within a legal function.

Russian/Ukrainian language skills.
