Role Description
Trustpoint.One is partnering with a nationally recognized law firm to identify an experienced Cannabis Finance & Regulatory Attorney to support sophisticated clients operating in one of the country's fastest-growing and most highly regulated industries. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney who enjoys working at the intersection of corporate finance, regulatory compliance, and the cannabis industry.
As a member of this growing practice, you'll provide strategic legal counsel to clients navigating the unique challenges of the cannabis industry. Responsibilities include:

Advise cannabis businesses on federal, state, and local regulatory compliance

Counsel clients on corporate finance, commercial transactions, and business operations

Analyze legal and regulatory risks impacting cannabis operators and investors

Assist clients with licensing, compliance, governance, and ongoing operational matters

Review and negotiate commercial agreements and finance-related transactions

Partner with business leaders, finance professionals, and outside advisors to develop practical legal solutions

Monitor changes in cannabis laws and regulations and advise clients on evolving legal requirements

Support sophisticated client matters while balancing legal, regulatory, and business objectives
Qualifications

Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

Experience advising cannabis industry clients or other highly regulated businesses

Strong background in corporate transactions, finance, regulatory compliance, or commercial law

Experience counseling clients on complex legal and business matters

Excellent analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills

Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and clients in a remote environment

A practical, business-minded approach to problem-solving

Prior experience representing cannabis operators, investors, lenders, or ancillary businesses is highly preferred

This is a high-volume screen-based role, requiring constant, prolonged computer usage, including but not limited to: reviewing documents, managing visual content, and attending virtual meetings

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing and document handling

Occasional standing, walking, bending, and reaching
