Role Description
This position is in the Office of Economics and Analytics (OEA), Auctions Division (AD), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE PAID. THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT MAY BE USED TO FILL ADDITIONAL POSITIONS WITHIN 90 DAYS.

Assists in the development of Commission policies relating to competitive bidding for licenses for wireless, satellite, and other telecommunications services.

Participates in support of Division efforts on Commission rulemaking proceedings and other proceedings relating to auctionable services.

Responsible for research and resolution of legal issues relating to auctions and auctionable services.

Provides advice and counsel to Associate Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief, Division Chief, and the Office Chief on auction-related matters.

Assists in the development and implementation of policies, programs, rules, and procedures concerning market-based mechanisms.

Works closely with Associate Division Chief, Deputy Division Chief, and Division Chief on assigned projects.

Projects may establish new policy, alter long-standing policy, and/or establish legal precedent.

Proceedings attract national interest and participation by various industry segments and consumer groups.

Assignments result in the production of legally, factually, and technically complex documents.

Assigned to projects involving competitive bidding issues in coordination with other staff attorneys and professionals.

Professional law experience that equips the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position.

To be deemed "BEST QUALIFIED", candidates must meet both the educational requirements and the Specialized Experience.

Education requirements include a professional law degree JD, LL.B., and/or LL.M.
