[Hiring] Senior zOS System Programmer @Truist

Role Description

Our Mainframe Engineering team is looking for an experienced, senior level zOS System Programmer to help with zOS new release installs, maintenance and OEM installs. This role will require:

• Problem tracking, diagnosis and root-cause analysis, replication, troubleshooting, and resolution for complex issues.
• Performing programming and debugging activities.
• Responding to issues in a timely manner by receiving and investigating incidents or service tickets.
• Engaging and managing outside vendors.
• Acting as a resource for teammates with less experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent education, training, and work-related experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in infrastructure engineering.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies including cloud, network, database, storage, platform, computing, and middleware.

• Banking or financial services experience.
• z/OS, SMP/e, IBM Mainframe experience and applying maintenance, IPL’ing, LPAR’s and HMC’s.
• Familiarity with taking dumps, traces and gathering appropriate documentation for analysis.
• Hands on with RACF and network security protocols (IPSec, AT-TLS, SSH).
• Knowledge of Coupling facility support, High Availability and Automation.
• Experience with parallel sysplex (GDPS) and IBM utilities.
