YDay - DecisionPoint | Cortek is hiring a remote Senior Full-Stack Software Developer. πŸ’Έ Salary: unspecified πŸ“Location: USA

Role Description

DecisionPoint seeks four Senior Full-Stack Software Developers to design, implement, test, secure, and modernize mission-critical software capabilities for the USMEPCOM ENLIST program. These positions are remote, with Chicago-area candidates preferred.

Note: By applying to this position, you acknowledge and consent to having your resume included in an active competitive government contract bid.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, integrate, document, deploy, and maintain mission-critical software capabilities.
  • Implement complex features and modernization enhancements across front-end, application, service, API, and data-access layers.
  • Translate approved requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, interface requirements, and design specifications into secure software solutions.
  • Develop intuitive and accessible web interfaces in coordination with UI/UX and accessibility specialists.
  • Design, implement, document, and maintain secure application programming interfaces and service integrations.
  • Develop reusable components, shared services, libraries, and software patterns.
  • Support application modernization, refactoring, technical-debt reduction, and replacement of obsolete components.
  • Evaluate existing code and recommend improvements to reliability, maintainability, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Implement approved security fixes and coordinate remediation with cybersecurity, testing, and platform teams.
  • Apply secure coding practices throughout design, development, testing, integration, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests, regression tests, and other automated quality checks.
  • Participate in peer reviews, code reviews, design reviews, and architecture discussions.
  • Review source code for correctness, security, performance, testability, maintainability, and compliance with established development standards.
  • Diagnose and resolve complex defects, integration failures, performance issues, and production-support concerns.
  • Support root-cause analysis and implement durable corrective actions.
  • Use approved version-control practices, including branching, merging, pull requests, tagging, and release management.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines, automated builds, testing, and deployment activities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, API documentation, build instructions, installation procedures, and release artifacts.
  • Support sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily coordination, demonstrations, reviews, retrospectives, and release-readiness activities.
  • Provide accurate estimates and identify technical risks, dependencies, assumptions, and implementation constraints.
  • Coordinate work with architecture, infrastructure, cloud, database, cybersecurity, testing, training, and operations teams.
  • Mentor junior and journeyman developers through technical guidance, code reviews, pairing, and knowledge sharing.
  • Cross-train on critical application components and provide coverage during absences, incidents, releases, and priority remediation activities.
  • Support Government demonstrations, user acceptance testing, operational validation, and stakeholder feedback.
  • Protect sensitive data and comply with applicable federal, DoD, security, privacy, and configuration-management requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of software-engineering, testing, documentation, and delivery practices.

Qualifications

  • An active Secret clearance or higher.
  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent permitted by the applicable labor category.
  • At least eight years of relevant professional experience.

  • Ability to mentor developers and cross-train across critical application components.
  • Ability to collaborate with architects, analysts, designers, testers, cybersecurity personnel, platform engineers, and Government stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, technical documentation, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
