[Hiring] Cloud Security Engineer @Leidos

Role Description

This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian citizen and hold minimum a Baseline, with the ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.

The opportunity focuses on securing enterprise cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and AWS. Working alongside global cyber security, infrastructure, and cloud engineering teams, you will help design, implement, and operate security capabilities that protect Leidos' worldwide enterprise environment.

• Design, build and deploy cloud security capabilities that protect Leidos cloud-based systems, networks, and information assets.
• Act as a technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) across cloud security services and technologies.
• Provide guidance on cloud security architectures, shared responsibility models, and cloud provider security capabilities.
• Partner with global cloud engineering, infrastructure, and cyber security teams to deliver secure and scalable solutions.
• Work closely with Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS platform teams to continuously enhance security controls and capabilities.
• Support operational cloud security services, ensuring they remain effective, compliant, and aligned to business needs.
• Collaborate with Security Operations and Incident Response teams to support investigations, threat detection, and remediation activities.
• Develop technical documentation including solution designs, implementation guides, standards, and operational procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate security processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Contribute to cloud security roadmaps and strategic initiatives that strengthen Leidos' cyber security posture globally.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience in Cyber Security, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Experience implementing, supporting, and monitoring enterprise cloud security technologies across Azure, AWS, or other major cloud platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 security services, cloud-native security controls, and shared responsibility models.
• Experience with identity and access management technologies including Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and Okta.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and secure network design.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience with Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra ID governance, Conditional Access, and MFA (advantageous, but not essential).
• Knowledge of CASB, cloud governance, logging, monitoring, and enterprise-scale cloud security architecture (advantageous, but not essential).
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code, scripting, or automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, or Python (advantageous, but not essential).
• Experience across multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform (advantageous, but not essential).
• Relevant certifications such as Azure Security Engineer, Cybersecurity Architect, AWS Security Specialty, CCSP, or CISSP are highly regarded.
