Role Description

This fixed term role is supported by grant funding that is approved for a one-year period. This career specialist serves on a technical advising team to consult and provide implementation support for global program designs, initiatives, and tools. The specialist provides competent knowledge in a given sub-specialty in their field. At this career level, the incumbent works independently on moderate to highly complex issues. He or she may coach and/or oversee the work of other specialists.

• Maintains a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children.
• Commits to and prioritizes child protection considerations in all decision-making, tasks, and activities across the ministry.
• Champions and implements global program designs, standards, and training tools in alignment with the ministry's objectives.
• Partners with Regional staff and stakeholders to provide strategically designed program implementation support and learning strategies of moderate complexity.
• Provides consulting in individual area(s) of specialization to National Offices.
• Supports the design and development of Compassion's program models to be implemented globally.
• Collaborates and partners with National Office staff and stakeholders and provides subject matter expertise within area of specialty.
• Supports program data and provides ongoing subject matter expertise in using high-quality data to measure program inputs, outputs, and outcomes on a global scale.
• Independently conducts special training and initiatives and consults with others regarding industry standards, national policies, and best practices.
• Identifies and analyzes moderately complex global program process problems and defines the scope of activities required to address the issues.
• Defines relevant metrics and develops reports utilized to track overall program development and implementation success.
• Provides expertise and coaching to other program support and partnership staff in Regional and national offices as requested.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in humanitarian relief and international development.
• Strong experience coaching, problem-solving, and providing technical support to implementing partners/sub-awardees.
• Technical expertise in food security, agricultural systems, and food assistance.

Requirements

• Ability to engage effectively across sectors and diverse country contexts.
• Experience facilitating partner reviews and traveling to country offices as needed.
• Expertise in emergency food programming, cash-based assistance, and market analysis to determine appropriate interventions.
