The Department of Corrections staff are vital to the safety and growth of all Wyoming communities, and this team has the pleasure of serving those who serve. This position assists the Wyoming Department of Corrections in Riverton, Lusk, and Newcastle. This position ensures State and Federal laws are being followed and provides a full range of Human Resources services that include:

• Recruitments and interviews
• New hire processing
• Benefit administration
• FMLA
• Personnel law/policy/rule interpretation
• Personnel record administration
• Back-up on classifications and performance management evaluations

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Federal (ADA, EEOC, FMLA, FLSA, etc.) laws
• Knowledge of the State of Wyoming Personnel Rules and Executive Orders
• Knowledge of human behavior and performance
• Knowledge of SAO's payroll processes and procedures
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel and other computer software
• Skills in grammar and proper English usage
• Skills in interpersonal relations
• Skills in organizing and prioritizing
• Ability to work effectively and independently
• Excellent communication skills
• Skill in conflict management

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree (typically in Human Resources)
• 0-2 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate II
• OR 3-5 years of progressive work experience (typically in Human Resources) with acquired knowledge at the level of a Human Resources Associate II
• No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
