Role Description

This is a remote position.

We are looking for another person to join our small, specialist recruitment team. We're deliberately keeping the level of this appointment somewhat flexible. You might already be a Junior Recruitment Consultant ready to take greater ownership of your own vacancies and clients. Or you may be an excellent Recruitment Researcher / Resourcer whose real strength is finding, engaging and screening candidates, with the ambition to grow from there. What matters most is that you already understand recruitment and enjoy the part that really makes the difference: finding the right person for the job.

We work predominantly across South Africa's technical and industrial sectors, recruiting for roles within engineering, mining, manufacturing and related industries. You'll work closely with an experienced recruiter and have the opportunity to develop your skills and level of responsibility based on your experience and capability.

Depending on your level, your responsibilities could include:

• Work on multiple vacancies across technical and professional disciplines.
• Write and manage job adverts and screen incoming applications.
• Proactively source candidates using PNET, Zoho Recruit, LinkedIn and other sourcing channels.
• Build effective Boolean searches and identify candidates who aren't necessarily actively applying.
• Conduct telephone screens and candidate interviews against specific job requirements.
• Maintain accurate candidate, client and vacancy information within Zoho Recruit.
• Manage candidate communication, interview arrangements, documentation and follow-ups.
• Assist with references and other pre-employment/background-check processes.
• Present suitable shortlisted candidates for review.
• At Consultant level, progressively take ownership of the full recruitment process — from taking a client brief and managing a vacancy through to interviews, offers and placement.
• Build professional relationships with candidates and, depending on experience, clients.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a recruitment agency environment is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrable experience sourcing candidates through job portals, databases and/or LinkedIn.
• Comfortable screening and speaking to candidates telephonically.
• Good judgement when assessing a CV against a job brief; we need someone who can understand why a candidate fits, not simply match keywords.
• Confident using recruitment systems/ATS technology; Zoho Recruit experience would be advantageous.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Organised and able to manage multiple vacancies, candidates and follow-ups without things falling through the cracks.
• For the Junior Consultant route, previous exposure to managing vacancies and communicating directly with clients would be particularly valuable.
• Exposure to technical, engineering, mining, manufacturing or industrial recruitment would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
