Role Description

DTID is seeking experienced, proactive and people-focused Head of Recruitment to coordinate recruitment activities and support the effective delivery of human capital operations across the organisation. The successful candidates will work closely with senior leaders, hiring managers and recruitment team members to coordinate recruitment cycles, strengthen recruitment processes and ensure that DTID attracts and selects suitable candidates across its Directorates and Divisions.

The Head of Recruitment will provide overall leadership and coordination of the recruitment function, the ideal candidates will be driven, experienced and solutions-focused, with strong people-management skills and the ability to work independently while supporting an international and fully remote organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate recruitment and selection activities across DTID.
  • Manage recruitment cycles from vacancy publication through assessment, interview, selection and onboarding.
  • Oversee and support members of the recruitment team.
  • Liaise with hiring managers and senior leaders on recruitment and workforce requirements.
  • Ensure recruitment activities are consistent with DTID policies, procedures, confidentiality and data-protection requirements.
  • Monitor recruitment pipelines, candidate progress and outstanding actions.
  • Support the effective use of DTID's Applicant Tracking System and maintain accurate recruitment records and reporting.
  • Identify and implement improvements to recruitment processes, candidate experience and overall human capital operations.

  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System such as Workable or another recruitment or HR information system would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge or interest in climate change, sustainability, international development, artificial intelligence, blockchain and emerging digital technologies would also be advantageous.

Education and Training

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Human Resources, Human Capital Management, Business Administration, Management, Organisational Development, Psychology or another relevant discipline.
  • Relevant professional qualifications or specialist training in Human Resources, Recruitment, Talent Acquisition, People Management or Organisational Development would be advantageous.
  • Equivalent professional experience, practical experience or demonstrated capability may also be considered where appropriate.
  • Professional proficiency in English.
  • Knowledge of an additional international language would be advantageous.

Experience

  • Professional experience in recruitment, human resources or human capital management.
  • Experience coordinating or managing recruitment activities.
  • Experience leading, supervising or coordinating teams.
  • Experience building constructive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting hiring managers and senior leaders.
  • Experience using Applicant Tracking Systems or recruitment software.
  • Experience developing, reviewing or improving recruitment processes.
  • Experience working independently and taking responsibility for assigned deliverables.
  • Experience collaborating across teams, departments or organisations.
  • Experience managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Candidates considered for appointment as Head of Recruitment should demonstrate stronger evidence of recruitment leadership, team management, recruitment planning and oversight of recruitment operations.
  • Experience within an international organisation, think tank, nonprofit organisation, research institution, technology organisation, climate or sustainability-focused organisation would be advantageous.
