[Hiring] Global Payroll Operations Supervisor @Rippling

Role Description

We're looking for a strategic leader to join Rippling's Global Payroll Operations team. We are rapidly expanding Rippling to serve the needs of employees and employers all over the world. Our Global Payroll Operations team plays a critical role in ensuring the success of our global payroll products, which are natively built and fully integrated with Rippling's broader suite of products.

This role, Global Operations Supervisor, is a critical hire for our APAC region that will be dedicated to scaling our APAC team and responsible for executing on time, compliant payroll. This role will own all operational payroll work across APAC countries, which includes:

• Collaboration with internal R&D teams, treasury/payments teams, and third-party partners.
• Ensuring smooth relationships with our external partners.
• Driving our expansion into new customer segments and geographies.
• Bringing critical country-specific payroll expertise to support the development of our natively built payroll software.

This is an exciting role that requires significant cross-departmental engagement with a major impact on the product, customer experience, and internal team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7+ years in a global payroll processing role.
• Minimum of 2+ years managing payroll operations personnel.
• Minimum of 4+ years in a client-facing role.
• Previous experience managing a large team.
• Strong overall APAC payroll experience (Philippines, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Indonesia, etc.). Experience in all countries is not a hard requirement.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end payroll procedures and regulations (including taxes & Social Security registration & filings).
• Previous experience handling in-house payroll processing and via partner payroll providers.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Strong experience with Google Suite or Microsoft Office, especially Docs/Sheets/Excel.
• Familiarity with Salesforce queues, JIRA, and Confluence is a plus.
• Has working experience with payroll-related systems and software.
• Strong English fluency and communication skills.

Requirements

• Motivate and lead a team of payroll operations specialists to execute on time payroll.
• Hire and train new team members to support market expansion and scaling operations.
• Drive team performance to ensure execution and meeting of performance KPIs.
• Monitor and report on the team’s progress to ensure requirements, KPIs, and deadlines are met.
• Facilitate training and development initiatives to build a skilled and high-performing team.
• Develop best-in-class processes to scale day-to-day operations.
• Support the team in driving issue resolutions by communicating with various government agencies, partners, and customers.
• Drive automated solutions that enable better efficiency and process improvement.
• Work closely with Global Payroll Engineering and Product teams to ensure:
• Natively built payroll software supports key payroll and tax compliance requirements.
• Product bugs and issues are quickly addressed.
• Internal tooling requirements are properly prioritized and implemented.
