[Hiring] Director of Talent Acquisition @Kanbrick

Role Description

We are building a leading network of specialty and emergency veterinary hospitals, and talent will be one of the biggest drivers of our growth. As our first dedicated Talent Acquisition leader, you’ll build the recruiting function from the ground up. You’ll create the team, employer brand, pipelines, and processes that help us attract exceptional specialists, doctors, technicians, and other clinical talent as we grow.

The Director of Talent Acquisition will:

• Build a stronger, more coordinated recruiting engine across the Network.
• Create the sourcing capacity, talent pipelines, employer story, and market insight.
• Develop relationships and pipelines that position the Network to hire tomorrow.
• Build a consistent approach to sourcing, candidate experience, recruiting technology, and employer brand across the network.
• Strengthen relationships with veterinary schools, technician programs, internships, residencies, and specialty communities.
• Develop useful compensation benchmarks and recruiting data.
• Build a thoughtful external presence in places where specialty and emergency veterinary talent learns and connects.
• Create a disciplined approach to identifying, cultivating, and staying connected with talented people.

Qualifications

• Experience in building or significantly improving a recruiting function across multiple locations.
• Experience in recruiting hard-to-find, credentialed, or specialized talent.
• Understanding of employer brand as part of recruiting.
• Ability to use recruiting technology, AI, CRM, and communication tools effectively.
• Experience building partnerships with schools, residency and training programs, and professional communities.
• Ability to use market and compensation insights for competitive decision-making.
• Balance urgency with judgment in candidate experience and culture fit.
• Willingness to travel regularly as part of the position.

Requirements

• Veterinary experience, particularly in specialty or emergency care, is highly relevant.
• Experience building pipelines for physicians, dentists, allied health professionals, or other specialized talent.
• Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on in shaping the recruiting model.
