Role Description

The United Nations World Food Programme is the world's largest humanitarian agency fighting hunger. WFP’s HR Technology and Analytics Branch (HRMOI) powers the digital backbone of HR, delivering smart tools, data, and strategy to streamline processes, drive decisions, and elevate experience.

HRMOI leads the development, implementation, and maintenance of the HR technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring streamlined, effective, and compliant HR processes across the organization. It provides data, analytics, and digital tools to employees, managers, executives, HR practitioners, and external partners β€” supporting evidence-based decision-making, improving productivity, and enhancing employee and customer experience.

The HRMOI Branch consists of six workstreams:

  • Payroll, time & audit systems
  • Talent, learning & recruiting systems
  • People analytics & reporting
  • Organization, positions & security
  • HR capabilities, system adoption & experience
  • HR technology implementations

This position is under the overall supervision of the Head of HR Payroll, time & audit system. Under guidance of the Professional HR Officer leading HR Data Cleansing, this position takes part in the HR Data Program initiative as follows:

  • Data analysis, cleansing and alignment towards reliable workforce data
  • User support and upskilling towards enhanced people management

Qualifications

  • Advanced university degrees in Human Resources, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, Mathematics or Finance, or First level university degree with additional relevant work experience.
  • At least three to five years of post-graduate professional experience in Human Resources with an interest in international humanitarian development.
  • Experience in conducting data analysis, business analysis, and performing testing and system deployment is an added value.
  • Knowledge and exposure to corporate information systems, working with Workday and SAP HR modules is an asset.
  • Good knowledge and ability to interpret HR data, rules and regulations, UN experience is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills (advanced level of Excel is an asset).
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully, and to work on tight deadlines.
  • Ability to produce high-quality written materials, including PowerPoint presentations as well as text documents.
  • Attention to details and strong coordinating skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and outside WFP to effectively contribute to the functioning of the unit.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and an intermediate knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

Requirements

  • Map, compile, review and analyze a variety of HR data of all WFP employee categories to support the Data cleansing exercises and enable effectiveness of HR services.
  • Establish data quality rules and exception reports for payroll master data, time and absence data, position/organizational dependencies, contract data, duty station data, salary scale data, allowance data and other payroll-critical fields.
  • Ensure recurring data issues are categorized by root cause, ownership, corrective action and prevention mechanism.
  • Contribute to the development of templates and clear instructions on how to correct the identified discrepancies.
  • Set up standards and procedures to ensure data errors are fixed by HR system users easily and in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the data cleansing activities and ensure reconciliation in all WFP HR systems: Workday, SAP HR, PASport and UNDP.
  • Liaise regularly with HR users for error corrections by ensuring validations are completed as per project timelines.
  • Prepare guidelines and participate in the preparation and delivery of training on system related actions, including preparation of guidelines on recurring errors.
  • Contribute to the establishment of an HR data oversight framework to ensure data errors are not repeated and regularly controlled.
  • Act as focal point for HR data cleansing primarily on Core HR data by providing guidance to HR users worldwide in the correct use of HR systems.
  • Provide guidance to HR system users in HQ, Country Offices and Regional Bureaus to ensure consistent and high-quality HR services are delivered during all phases of data cleansing.
  • Monitor/Follow up incoming queries/issues through the dedicated tickets. Respond to queries/issues received, ensuring correct understanding and resolution in compliance with relevant processes and procedures.
  • Contribute to the accuracy of HR master data entries for monthly payroll runs.
  • Participate in payroll transformation initiatives, including One Payroll and related integrations.
  • Other duties as required.
