[Hiring] VP, People Operations @Machinify

Role Description

We are looking for a hands-on VP of People Operations!

Machinify has completed the first phase of HR integration across five acquired companies, consolidating policies, processes, and structures into one HR framework. Simultaneously, Machinify is planning a full HRIS replacement with Workday, and the VP People Operations will be ultimately accountable for this effort. This is a key role that will design systems people actually want to use!

WHAT YOU'LL OWN:

• Workday implementation — HR workstream lead:
  • Define system needs beyond vendor recommendations.
  • Shape module design with internal experts.
  • Ensure genuine understanding and adoption by managers and employees.
  • View go-live as a milestone, not the finish line.
• Process mapping, automation, and AI enablement:
  • Map core HR workflows end-to-end from hire-to-onboard through offboarding.
  • Identify automation opportunities using AI and Workday-native tooling.
  • Set data standards for trustworthy downstream analytics.
  • Pursue opportunities to use LLM or workflow tools for efficiency.
• Making the MFY framework stick:
  • Understand compliance issues through listening to managers and HRBPs.
  • Build education and enablement resources: decision-tree guides, quick references, smart communications.
  • Design targeted interventions for changing habits.
• People technology ownership:
  • Run HR systems with a focus on data integrity, access governance, and integration architecture.
  • Lead a team of 4 (manager/director, program manager, onboarding and systems specialists).
  • Own integrations between HR, payroll, ATS, benefits, and AI platforms.
• Service delivery, onboarding, and integration:
  • Establish SLAs for manager and employee requests.
  • Own the new hire experience from preboarding through 90 days.
  • Build an AI-powered self-service layer for policy Q&A and onboarding guidance.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years in HR ops or HR tech, with at least 3 years at director or VP level leading a team.
• Real experience deploying AI tools — LLMs, chatbots, workflow automation — inside an HR function.
• Hands-on Workday HCM ownership from the HR functional side.
• Post-acquisition process change experience.
• True HRIS ownership — system configuration, data governance, integration management.
• A track record of changing behavior through good design.

Requirements

• Experience managing complexity and people, not just projects.
• Experience defining requirements, shaping module design, and driving adoption in Workday.
• Performance or Compensation module experience is a plus.

• Pay range: $185,000-$225,000 + Annual Bonus.
