[Hiring] Senior Recruiter, Research @GiveWell

Role Description

GiveWell's senior research staff are the key decision makers for hundreds of millions of dollars in grantmaking. We're seeking one or more Senior Recruiters to help us find strong candidates for our research team.

Finding senior research staff is challenging due to:

• The talent pool for GiveWell researchers is not a defined group.
• Successful candidates come from diverse backgrounds, including economics PhDs, policy analysts, management consultants, medical doctors, and more.
• The assessment process is highly competitive, with an offer rate of less than one in a thousand.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with research team leaders to own recruiting for various roles.
• Improving our assessment process and sourcing, screening, and closing offers.
• Analyzing data to enhance decision-making in hiring.
• Identifying new pipelines for candidate sourcing.
• Conducting standard recruiting tasks such as screening applications and interviewing candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience in recruiting, talent operations, research operations, or a generalist role at a mission-driven organization.
• Comfort with data, including spreadsheets and basic quantitative analysis.
• Strong written communication skills.
• Experience working closely with executive-level leadership.
• Familiarity with global health, development economics, effective altruism, or adjacent fields is a plus but not required.
• Recruiting experience is welcome but not required.
