Role Description
The Senior Group Underwriter, Training is responsible for developing, implementing, and delivering training programs that enhance the technical underwriting skills of the Group Underwriting team.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs on all aspects of underwriting functions (without size restrictions) to ensure consistency and accuracy across the team.
- Provide training to Sales and other departments on underwriting processes and documentation, fostering cross-functional collaboration.
- Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of underwriting processes and documentation to align with company policies and best practices.
- Conduct quality reviews, identify training gaps, and implement corrective training to address areas for improvement.
- Support internal audits by ensuring that underwriting procedures comply with policies and regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Actuarial, or related field
- 10+ years in Group Underwriting or related role
- CEBS or other Insurance-related certifications
- In-depth knowledge of group underwriting processes
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to identify training needs and design effective programs
- Proficiency in English and French
- Occasional travel may be required for training sessions at other locations in Medavie provinces.
