Role Description

Exhibits a Christ-like servant leadership spirit while developing a regional network of High Impact (HI) volunteers through the creation of Area Teams that will effectively carry out the ministry of American Heritage Girls. Demonstrates and maintains a close walk with Jesus Christ and a sincere commitment to prayer.

Specific Duties

  • Area Team Development and Coaching (60%)
    • Develops a personal prayer team that will focus on the development and implementation of the assigned region's HI Area Teams.
    • Prays regularly for organizational leadership, volunteers, and their effectiveness.
    • Recruits, selects, equips, and leads a team of Area Coordinators (AC) that will develop effective HI Volunteer Ministry teams throughout the region.
    • Leads each AC to build their team and set and implement interdependent goals.
    • Oversees the selection, equipping, and leading of High Impact Volunteers done by ACs throughout the region.
    • Leads one-on-one coaching calls with ACs and other assigned HI Volunteers on a monthly basis.
    • Completes annual review with Area Coordinators.
    • Travels within the region to equip and meet with HI Leader Volunteers and their teams.
    • Travels within the region to vision cast and develop new Area Teams.
    • Participates in daily prayer, weekly vision casting, and monthly Bible Studies.
    • Adherence to Employee Handbook policies.
    • Other duties as assigned.
  • Strategic Planning (20%)
    • Works with the Director of Volunteer Services and other Regional Managers to develop an effective regional recruiting strategy for both HI Leader Volunteers and HI Volunteers.
    • Develops a regional plan for the growth of current and new Area Teams.
    • Creatively problem solves challenges in Area Team development to propel teams forward in effectiveness.
    • Writes and implements annual and quarterly goals to be approved by Implementation Team and/or AHG Leadership.
    • Goals to include interdependent goals/outcomes that will measure the growth of Troops and members, Area Team effectiveness, retention of Troops and members, and development of authentic community in the region.
    • Participates in the development of a strategic plan for the cost-effective development of a national network of volunteers.
    • Provides verifiable reporting of agreed-upon metrics based on goals.
    • Participates as an active member of the Implementation Team.
  • Team Development or Volunteer Equipping (15%)
    • Participates in the planning and implementation of Area Team Position based training calls.
    • Develops a monthly meeting with all ACs within the nation.
    • Co-leads annual AC retreat for celebration and planning across the country.
    • Attends AHG National events to connect with HI Volunteers and host team building opportunities.
  • Training (5%)
    • Meets regularly with Director of Volunteer Services for coaching and communication.
    • Attends Executive Course in Volunteer Ministry Development 1 & 2.

Qualifications

  • Passion for serving God in the AHG Ministry.
  • Agreement with AHG's Statement of Faith; must exhibit and maintain a strong relationship with Christ and a positive faith attitude.
  • Committed to prayer.
  • Experience shepherding others, a spiritual leader.
  • Ability to relate to persons of all ages, backgrounds, skills, and abilities.
  • Proven track record in building and developing teams.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • Strategic mindset with big picture aptitude.
  • High level of understanding and commitment to strong biblical volunteer ministry development principles and practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ direct volunteer ministry experience, AHG experience preferred.
  • Results-oriented and motivated by seeing clear cost-effective results.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent follow-through and attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated by empowering others to succeed.
  • Experience in building strong authentic relationships, including being a reflective listener.
  • Flexible schedule to accommodate occasional evening meetings with volunteers.
  • Excellent presentation communication skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs., walk long distances and stand for long periods of time, on occasion.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70 days within the region.
