[Hiring] Principal Human Resources Consultant @Providence

Role Description

The Principal HR Consultant (PHRC) is responsible for serving as a strategic consultant/subject matter expert to Area CHROs and Caregiver Relations Consultants who face complex employee relations matters where expert knowledge and assistance is needed. They are responsible for identifying and assessing situations for compliance and policy concerns and making recommendations for resolution.

• Supports Labor and Employment Counsel in the investigation of legal matters.
• Recommends and promotes consistent and best practice approaches to positive employee and labor relations.
• Ensures adherence to HR policies, compliance with regulatory and policy requirements and standards.
• Oversees investigations, review, and oversight on Reductions in Force and project work.
• Provides oversight on Caregiver Relations work product.
• Mentors Caregiver Relations consultants.
• Conducts employee relations research and performance management consultations.
• Identifies trends and patterns and need for critical intervention.
• Engages in labor relations research, dispute alternatives, and policy development.
• Maintains effective record keeping and data integrity.
• Provides SME expertise and appropriate competency-based systems to support process and protocol adherence to regulatory requirements.
• Maintains HR metrics and dashboards and reports out to other HR professionals.

Qualifications

• 8 years experience in general human resources, or equivalent work experience, at exempt level, in multi-state/location, service line of business.
• 8 years demonstrated experience in the area of Employee Relations, Labor Relations, ADAAA, and leaves of absence.
• Demonstrates advanced experience in one of the following specialty areas: labor relations, ADAAA, Leaves of Absence, or mediation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (preferred).
• Upon hire: HR Certification (SPHR, SHRM-SCP or PHR, SHRM-CP) (preferred).
• 5 years Project Management experience (preferred).
• 5 years experience in the specialty areas of Drug Free Workplace, Compliance, Performance Management, ADA/LOA (preferred).
• 5 years Supervision of Human Resources staff or equivalent work experience (preferred).
