Role Description

We are seeking a Learning and Development Specialist for a part-time contingent role lasting approximately six months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs. The role averages 20 hours per week and offers flexibility; however, availability during standard business hours (Monday–Friday) is required. This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based in Vancouver, BC, who can attend occasional on-site meetings.

• Design, develop, and deliver engaging learning solutions that enhance employee capability and organizational performance.
• Work closely with subject matter experts to create impactful training content.
• Manage learning platforms and drive continuous improvement in the learner experience to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop engaging learning materials and programs to support employee development.
• Manage, update, and deploy content within the Learning Management System (LMS) and SharePoint.
• Analyze learner needs to create targeted, effective training interventions.
• Troubleshoot and adjust learning content to ensure successful outcomes.
• Partner with HR, business leaders, and subject matter experts to gather content and align learning initiatives.
• Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to develop impactful learning experiences.
• Review, edit, and enhance training materials for clarity and consistency.
• Facilitate virtual or in-person learning sessions as needed.
• Stay current on learning technology trends and recommend continuous improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree or certificate in Human Resources, Business Administration, Instructional Design, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in Learning & Development, Instructional Design, or Talent Development.
• Proven experience with Articulate eLearning software and video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).
• Familiarity with Workday Learning or other LMS platforms preferred.
• Experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment is an asset.

Skills and Competencies

• Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Visio).
• Experience managing LMS content and maintaining SharePoint or MS Teams learning sites.
• Strong organization, time management, and project coordination skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Transparency

The anticipated pay range for this contingent position is CDN $35.00–$43.00 per hour. The final offer will depend on factors including experience, education, and location.
