Role Description

This position is a Contract and Remote Opportunity. We are looking for a talented individual to join the Human Resources team as a Human Resources Business Partner – Airways (24‑Month Contract).

The Contract - Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) plays a crucial role in supporting and aligning human resources initiatives with the strategic objectives within the Airways Division. This role serves as a trusted advisor and consultant to both Management and Employees within the Airways Division, providing guidance and expertise on a wide range of HR strategies, policies and processes.

Employee Relations & Performance Management:

  • Assist Managers with setting performance goals in alignment with the division’s strategic objectives.
  • Facilitate regular performance evaluations and support managers with the identification of any performance issues as required.
  • Support Managers with creating performance improvement plans that have clear goals.
  • Monitor progress regularly and ensure adjustments are made when necessary.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for employees and managers on a variety of employee relations issues.
  • Oversee absence management, including tracking and documenting employee leave.
  • Support employees with disabilities by coordinating reasonable accommodation.
  • Draft various employee communications ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Plan and conduct exit interviews with departing employees and analyze exit interview data.
  • Assist in crafting detailed and accurate position profiles aligned with the division's objectives.

Talent Acquisition and Development:

  • End-to-end talent acquisition for the division, developing and maintaining a robust talent pipeline.
  • Create and execute comprehensive recruitment strategies tailored to the division’s needs.
  • Lead structured and competency-based interviews using various assessment tools.
  • Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and team dynamics.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all recruitment activities.

HR Policy Development and Implementation:

  • Work closely with HR leadership to identify unique needs and challenges of the division.
  • Regularly update and refine HR policies to reflect changes in legislation and organizational objectives.
  • Provide support and clarification to managers and employees on HR policies and practices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of existing HR policies for compliance and alignment with best practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs on HR policies, procedures, and compliance obligations.

Compliance, Risk Management and Change Leadership:

  • Assist in the development and execution of change management strategies.
  • Act as a change agent within the division, promoting understanding and buy-in.
  • Provide tools, resources, and support to help navigate and adapt to changes effectively.
  • Develop comprehensive communication plans for changes in HR policies or practices.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent education.
  • 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Limited knowledge of aviation regulations as it relates to training and documentation requirements.
  • Computer proficiency with Word, Excel, and quick to learn new technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills.

  • You must be legally eligible to work for a Canadian company (e.g., be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or possess a valid work permit).
  • Provide a clear Criminal Background Check.
