Role Description

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Law, Economics, or Business Administration
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience, ideally 3–6+ years, in US Individual Income Tax (Form 1040) compliance, preferably at an accounting firm, tax consulting firm, or Big Four firm
• Fluent/proficient English, both written and spoken, for frequent communication with clients, authorities, and international partners
• Strong command of US individual tax return preparation and review, including Form 1040, and knowledge of key federal and state tax compliance procedures
• Solid understanding of cross-border reporting requirements, particularly FBAR, FATCA/Form 8938, Foreign Tax Credits, the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, and state tax rules
• Familiarity with professional US tax preparation software, such as CCH Axcess/ProSystem fx, GoSystem Tax RS, UltraTax CS, Drake, or equivalent platforms
• Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to organize, review, and analyze tax-related data, controls, and workpapers

Requirements

• An active Enrolled Agent (EA) or US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credential, or progress toward obtaining one
• Experience with dual-resident taxpayers and knowledge of Brazilian individual tax reporting obligations, such as DIRPF and CBE/BACEN
• Experience working directly with high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs), international executives, and expatriates
• Previous experience reviewing junior analysts’ deliverables, mentoring team members, and participating in technical training sessions
