Role Description
This position is responsible for the administration of federal, state, local, employee and employer payroll taxes, including research, analysis, data set-up, reconciliations, and preparation of tax documents/returns in a timely and accurate manner.

Prepares and reconciles tax returns and other payroll tax documents.

Balances weekly, quarterly, and annual interface files used to report employee/employer wages and taxes to federal, state and local jurisdictions.

Balances W-2s and prepares W-2Cs as needed.

Reviews audit reports, conducts analysis, and handles inquiries related to taxable wages and taxes.

Responsible for complete problem resolution including workflow analysis and implementing process changes to ensure proper controls are established and compliance with SOX requirements.

Conducts fact finding, as necessary, in support of tax and accounting-related projects to ensure that liabilities, expenses and payments for payroll taxes are properly posted to G/L, and new earnings codes are taxed/reported properly.

Works closely with tax filing vendor to ensure tasks are done in a timely and accurate manner:

Taxes filed/remitted.

Inquiries/audits from federal/state/local jurisdictions researched/resolved.

New/changing requirements communicated and implemented.

Invoices balanced and paid/disputed.
Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Knowledge of ADP Smart Compliance (preferred).

Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree in a related field (minimum education).

5 years of work experience (minimum).

Payroll tax filing and reconciliation experience required.

Strong analytical skills requiring process and data analysis.

Strong quantitative skills utilizing statistics and complex formulas.

Strong computer skills (i.e., Excel, Access, Word, mainframe applications).
