Role Description

The Senior Financial Reporting Professional prepares, analyzes, and distributes periodic financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders. For this role, you should have a strong finance and accounting background, including experience in:

• Interpreting financial results
• Researching variances
• Reconciling accounts
• Translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights

Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires:

• An in-depth evaluation of variable factors
• Sound financial judgment
• Close attention to accuracy

The Senior Financial Reporting Professional ensures all reports and disclosures comply with applicable government regulations, professional standards, and organizational policies. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing consolidation journal entries
• Eliminating intercompany transactions
• Consolidating divisional and subsidiary financial accounts on a timely and accurate basis for inclusion in internal and external financial statements

You will use advanced Excel and SQL skills to:

• Organize, validate, reconcile, and analyze large financial data sets
• Develop repeatable reporting processes
• Identify trends and exceptions
• Support efficient, accurate reporting

The professional manages multiple recurring and ad hoc priorities each day, maintains organized documentation, tracks deadlines and dependencies, and adjusts quickly as business needs change. You will influence department strategy and make decisions on complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive health, finance, accounting, or technical insurance experience
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas and functions, lookups, data validation, data modeling, and analysis of large data sets
• Strong SQL experience, including writing and modifying queries, troubleshooting data discrepancies, and extracting data for financial reporting and analysis
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience facilitating and leading meetings with senior leadership

Requirements

• This is a remote position; however, the candidate may have to occasionally travel to the Louisville, KY Humana facility
• Work at Home Requirements:
  • Self-provided internet service must meet a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps
  • Wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is suggested
  • Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information
• Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required

Pay Range

The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.

$86,300 - $118,700 per year

This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
