Role Description

We are currently expanding a Colombia-based nearshore implementation team for a U.S. fintech client specializing in the private funds industry. The team works inside the client's U.S.-based Implementation team, configuring, testing, and validating fund structures and calculations in the client's platform. Superior English and communication skills are required.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience on the operations or accounting side of private equity, at a fund, a fund administrator, or a fund software company.
• Ability to explain how each tier of a fund's waterfall works.
• This role suits fund operations and fund accounting backgrounds more than investment or deal-team roles.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations.
• 2+ years in the private equity industry as a fund accountant, fund operations professional, or implementation specialist at a fund manager, fund administrator, or fund management software provider.
• Hands-on experience calculating or reviewing distribution waterfalls: return of capital, preferred return, GP catch-up, and carried interest.
• Ability to build a waterfall or distribution model in Excel from fund terms and transaction data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and demonstrated comfort managing large, complex data sets.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Fluent written and spoken English (B2+), with strong communication skills for daily coordination with a U.S.-based team.

Key Responsibilities

• Own either a substantial piece of a larger financial implementation involving multiple entities, structures, or workflows, or a full, single-entity implementation end-to-end, with minimal oversight.
• Identify edge cases independently and propose solutions rather than escalating for direction on every issue.
• Provide guidance to Associates on specific pieces of work.
• Work closely with the U.S.-based Implementation, Product, and Engineering teams, surfacing issues uncovered during testing and implementation.

Preferred Skills

• Track record of implementing, configuring, or rolling out software, systems, or operational processes, ideally with SaaS or cloud-based platforms.
• Experience with investor distributions, capital accounts, or NAV calculations.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools to build or support automations.
• Experience adjusting quickly to evolving workflows, priorities, and tooling.

Nice to Have

• Experience with complex or non-standard waterfalls: multiple investor classes, IRR hurdles, whole-fund and deal-by-deal structures, or clawbacks.
• Experience reconciling waterfall results against a fund's limited partnership agreement or other governing documents.
• CPA or equivalent experience.
