Role Description
Senior Accountant responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of accurate financial information for assigned areas of the general ledger.

General ledger account analysis and reconciliations.

Preparation of financial statements for the Health Ministry (βHMβ) and Market Record to Report (βR2Rβ) shared services area.

Demonstrates problem-solving skills related to healthcare financial operations.

Maintains awareness of new industry developments and standards.

Establishes and maintains positive relationships with leaders from HM, Service Area, Trinity Health, and related entities.

Assists Manager with work relating to both internal and external audits.

Responsible for timely implementation of agreed-upon audit recommendations.

Assists in annual 990 and other tax returns.

Completes inter-company billing, cash transfers, and reconciles inter-company balances.

Identifies opportunities for process optimization and efficiency enhancements.

Completes special projects, financial analysis, and research.

Demonstrates the ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Prepares monthly accounting entries for input into the PeopleSoft G/L system.

Keeps manager informed of any significant changes or decisions required.

Reconciles, analyzes & adjusts general ledger accounts.

Ensures accurate detail supports workpaper reconciliations.

Meets all deadlines in a timely and proficient manner.

Notifies manager when issues are identified and investigates potential causes and solutions.

Assists with completion of year-end financial reporting package and preparation of year-end audit work papers.

Researches & compiles information to support ad-hoc operational projects & initiatives.

Provides Financial Analytics including performing various analyses and developing correlations.
Qualifications

Bachelorβs degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance.

Equivalent combination of education and/or experience, such as a long tenure in health care accounting and/or HFMA certifications accepted in lieu of degree requirement.

Minimum three (3) to five (5) years experience.

Experience working with US GAAP and conducting financial analysis.
Requirements

CPA preferred.

Healthcare exposure preferred.

Fixed Assets exposure preferred.
Benefits

Hourly Pay Range: $32.52 - $48.78.
