Role Description
A highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountant is needed to support a U.S.-based outsourced accounting firm that helps businesses manage their end-to-end accounting operations and monthly financial reporting. This role involves overseeing multiple client accounts, maintaining accurate records, and delivering timely, high-quality financial reports. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision, demonstrates excellent communication, and can manage multiple portfolios with minimal supervision.
There are two types of Accountant roles available:

Client-Facing Senior Accountant:
focuses on direct client communication via email and phone/video calls.

Non-Client-Facing Accountant:
focuses on accounting execution and reporting with minimal client interaction.
Both roles share the same core responsibilities and high standards of accuracy, timeliness, and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting:

Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple U.S.-based clients in accordance with U.S. GAAP or private company standards (training provided per client).

Prepare monthly financial statements using the accrual method, including variance analysis, commentary, and actionable insights.

Ensure timely and accurate filing of monthly sales tax returns.

Identify, analyze, and correct historical accounting errors as needed.

Transaction Management & Reconciliation:

Categorize and reconcile bank and credit card transactions on a weekly and monthly basis.

Process accounts payable and generate client invoices accurately and on schedule.

Reconcile revenue to billing systems, contracts, and customer payment processors.
-
Allocate payroll to departments and classes, ensuring accuracy in expense tracking and reporting.

Review and reconcile prepaid, missing, or misclassified expenses.

Process employee expense reports and ensure correct tax treatment.

Client Communication & System Coordination:

(For client-facing role) Communicate proactively with clients through email or phone to clarify transactions and address financial inquiries.

Troubleshoot and resolve accounting or CRM software issues efficiently.

Assist with onboarding new clients and establishing accounting workflows.

Support audit preparation and financial reviews when required.

Performance & Insights:

Generate monthly KPI reports and financial summaries that highlight trends, opportunities, and key variances.

Contribute ideas to improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and client satisfaction.
Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) β active registration in the Philippines required.

Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in public or outsourced accounting firms managing multiple clients (Preferred).

Strong command of accrual-based accounting and familiarity with U.S. accounting standards (Good to have).

Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Enterprise (Required); familiarity with Xero, Bill.com, Expensify, Ramp, Divvy, or Concur is a plus (Preferred).

Excellent knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis).

Experience preparing and filing U.S. sales tax returns preferred.

Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to manage deadlines across multiple clients.

Self-driven, organized, and able to work independently in a remote setup.
