Role Description
Join our Finance team as a Payroll Associate and help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. In this detail-focused role, you will manage payroll information, support pay and benefit calculations, maintain reliable employee records, and work closely with Human Resources, branch leaders, employees, banking contacts, and government agencies. Collect hours, calculate payroll inputs, process changes, and complete each payroll accurately and on schedule.

Prepare journal entries, payroll reports, pay information, and statements of earnings.

Process special payments and calculations, including bonuses, statutory holidays, and pension payments.

Complete and distribute government documentation, including new-hire reports, Records of Employment, and supporting information for T4 / RL1 preparation and T2200 / TP64.1.

Maintain accurate employee data and payroll-system records, including new-hire information and employee listings.

Maintain clear communication to support accurate payroll processing.

Respond promptly to employee and banking inquiries and collaborate with SOX auditors on payroll controls.

Provide general administrative support and take on other related duties as needed.
Qualifications

A Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation.

Experience with Oracle HCM combined with at least two years of experience in payroll processing.

Demonstrated experience processing high-volume payroll for 500 or more employees.

Experience processing payroll across multiple provinces.

A bachelorβs degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.

Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues and external contacts.

Comfortable using computer applications and financial software.
