[Hiring] Multi-Property Accountant @Main Street Hospitality

Role Description

The Multi-Property Accountant is a trusted financial steward and collaborative partner to our hotel teams, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial processes for their assigned properties. This role serves as the key liaison between the Finance team and the General Managers—providing insight, structure, and support across all core accounting functions. From month-end closings to forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, the Property Accountant plays a vital role in helping each hotel operate with confidence and clarity.

With a meticulous eye for detail and a service-oriented mindset, the Property Accountant works hand-in-hand with property leadership and hotel-based accounting team members to ensure smooth execution of daily and monthly financial tasks, while delivering consistent, high-quality reporting that supports operational excellence and ownership transparency.

Qualifications

• College degree in accounting, finance or equivalent preferred
• At least three to five years general accounting work experience in the hospitality industry
• Ability to understand and utilize basic computer equipment and applications, including spreadsheet applications, accounting and analytics software
• Experience with hospitality accounting and business analytics software preferred

Requirements

• Maintain compliance with Main Street Hospitality standards and regulations
• Post daily sales journal after balancing audit reports to settlements
• Prepare and post monthly journal entries for banking and subsidiary journals
• Responsible for all accounting tasks as set forth on daily/monthly task list
• Prepare and review monthly P&L’s for assigned properties
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate back up
• Prepare monthly cash flow statements and work with MSH Treasury department on rolling calendar cash forecasts
• Audit and reconcile all front desk and food and beverage cashiering
• Audit, reconcile credit cards; reconcile city ledger accounts on a weekly basis
• Validate tax calculations in the sales journal
• Alert management of any unusual operation or financial occurrences
• Maximize productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in finding and implementing solutions
• Respond to governmental inquiries upon receipt
• Attend meetings/trainings as required by management
• Perform other duties as requested by management
• Maintain high level of office organization by daily filing and routing of all job-related duties
• Any other tasks assigned by the VP of Accounting
