Role Description

The City of San Marcos is looking for motivated, analytical, and forward-thinking professionals to fill two exciting opportunities in our Development Services and Public Works Departments!

Both positions offer the chance to put your financial expertise to work, collaborate with teams across the City, and support the projects, infrastructure, and services that make a difference in our growing community. As part of our Analyst Group, you'll play an essential role in supporting the divisions in your department through financial planning and management. Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing and monitoring budgets
• Preparing financial forecasts and projections
• Managing procurement activities
• Overseeing grants and capital improvement project budgets
• Financial reporting

Requirements

• Management Analyst:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Two to three years of increasingly responsible professional-level administrative, analytical, and/or budgetary experience.
• Senior Management Analyst:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, economics, or a related field is preferred; a master's degree is highly desirable.
  • Five years of increasingly responsible professional-level administrative, analytical, and/or budgetary experience.
