[Hiring] Lead Accountant @Assurant

Role Description

The Lead Accountant role will play a vital role within the Consolidations team. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

• Preparation and reconciliation of capital movements between entities
• Assisting with accounting for equity changes and equity pickups and eliminations
• Tracking intercompany loans
• Reconciling intercompany transactions for select entities
• Assisting with preparation of various journal entries, account reconciliations, and analytical duties on a monthly and quarterly basis
• Assisting in process improvement efforts and automation of tasks where applicable

Qualifications

• BA or BS in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 5 years accounting experience, experience in Corporate or Consolidations environment a plus
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP
• Experience with Oracle ERP a plus
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI a plus
• Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate with domestic and international teams
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills to meet reporting deadlines
• Results oriented and detail focused for accuracy in reporting
• Ability to work independently and within a team structure

Requirements

• Record and reconcile cash and non-cash capital movements between parent and subsidiary legal entities
• Assist with accounting for entity acquisitions, dissolutions, mergers, and transfers
• Review monthly consolidated equity pickup and eliminations for accuracy
• Record equity related clean-up entries as needed and prepare related account reconciliations
• Assist in reconciling and troubleshooting the year-end close out process
• Track and reconcile intercompany loans
• Prepare intercompany reconciliation for select entities, including domestic holding companies
• Review international intercompany recharge entries as needed
• Assist in recording and reconciling royalty payments between domestic and international entities
• Prepare ad-hoc reports for internal management or assist with projects as business needs change
• Assist in SEC reporting schedule preparation and review of 10Q/10K as needed
