Role Description

The mandate involves stepping in quickly to stabilize the accounting function, addressing issues such as:

• Month-end and year-end close, including reconciliation and cleanup of legacy issues
• Balance sheet integrity — inventory, accruals, reserves, intercompany, and anything else that has drifted
• Accounting system transition or ERP financial module implementation and data migration
• Internal controls and process documentation
• Audit preparation and management of the external audit relationship
• Day-to-day management of the accounting team
• Support to the CFO or sponsor on reporting, diligence requests, and quality of earnings work

Qualifications

• 10+ years in accounting, with at least 3 in a controller or assistant controller role
• Manufacturing environment experience, including inventory and cost accounting
• A record of cleaning up genuinely messy books, not just maintaining clean ones
• Hands-on ERP experience — you can work in the system, not just review its output
• CPA strongly preferred
• Ability to start on short notice and be on site five days a week

• ERP conversion or migration lead experience
• PE portfolio company reporting
• Audit background
• Multi-entity or multi-site consolidation
