Role Description

Estrada Consulting, Inc. is hiring one experienced governmental accountant to join our team as a part time W2 employee on a Power BI dashboard engagement for a state education agency's Comptroller's Office.

You will be the team's accounting authority, advising the Comptroller's Office and our Power BI developers on:

• Governmental accounting
• Reconciliation
• Annual reporting

Every dashboard will be accurate, audit ready, and aligned with state fiscal policy.

The ideal candidates will have:

• Experience working at or directly for a state comptroller, CFO, or finance director
• Knowledge of governmental GAAP, SEFA, and Single Audit
• Experience with federal education grants and Oklahoma is a strong plus

Qualifications

• Advisory or management experience at a Comptroller, CFO, Controller, finance director, or equivalent senior financial management level in state or local government, or as an advisor to that level
• Strong knowledge of governmental accounting: GASB standards, fund accounting, GAAP, and budgetary reporting
• Experience with state reconciliation practices and annual financial reporting (ACFR, GAAP packages, SEFA, Single Audit)
• Experience with federal grants accounting and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200)
• Excellent written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CGFM, or CGMA
• Experience with PeopleSoft Financials and Oklahoma state agencies or OMES
• Experience with K-12 or state education agency finance and federal education programs
• Familiarity with Power BI or other financial reporting tools

Position Details

• Openings: 1 position
• Employment type: Part time, W2 employee of Estrada Consulting, Inc. (no 1099 or subcontract arrangements, per the client's requirements)
• Hours: About 10 hours per month on average, more during year-end close and the audit
• Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Oklahoma City
• Pay: To be discussed - hourly range
• Start: Contingent on contract award, expected in 2027
