Role Description
The Fraud Analytics & Loss Prevention Assistant Manager is responsible for supporting the day-to-day leadership and operation of the Bankβs fraud prevention, detection, investigation, recovery, and loss mitigation activities. This position serves as a key operational leader within the Fraud Analytics & Loss Prevention function and acts as the primary backup to the Fraud Analytics and Loss Prevention Manager.

Oversee fraud investigations, alerts, referrals, and fraud-related incidents, ensuring timely resolution, effective loss mitigation, proper documentation, and compliance with established procedures.

Prioritize and manage team workloads based on risk exposure, customer impact, potential loss, recovery opportunities, and service level expectations.

Review complex fraud cases, provide investigative guidance, and serve as the escalation point for significant fraud events and operational decisions.

Coordinate fraud response efforts, support containment activities, analyze fraud trends and loss data, and recommend control improvements to mitigate emerging risks.

Lead, coach, and develop Fraud Analytics & Loss Prevention staff while supporting staffing, performance management, and employee development.

Maintain fraud policies, procedures, detection strategies, operational controls, reporting, and investigation standards to promote consistent fraud risk management across the organization.

Partner with business lines and support functions to strengthen fraud prevention efforts, support regulatory and audit activities, and address emerging fraud threats.

Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, banking experience, fraud investigations, analytics, or loss prevention experience may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of fraud, financial crimes, loss prevention, risk management, or related banking experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities preferred.

Strong knowledge of common fraud schemes affecting financial institutions, including check fraud, ACH fraud, wire fraud, account takeover, identity theft, business email compromise, impersonation scams, and deposit account fraud.

Demonstrated experience managing complex investigations and responding to active fraud events.

Working knowledge of BSA/AML requirements and the relationship between fraud investigations and suspicious activity reporting.

Knowledge of deposit and payment operations, including ACH, wires, checks, debit cards, online banking, and other payment channels.

Ability to make sound risk-based decisions in time-sensitive situations.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex fraud matters to management and business partners.

Ability to work effectively across Operations, BSA/AML, Risk, Information Security, Legal, Compliance, and customer-facing business lines.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously and perform in a dynamic environment while maintaining a positive mindset and strong organization.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word, with the ability to effectively utilize fraud detection, case management, reporting, and other operational systems to support investigations, analytics, and risk mitigation efforts.
