Role Description

The UAMS Center for Hearing Health Access is seeking a Financial Operations Manager to support community-engaged research and technology-enabled programs that expand access to hearing care in rural communities. In this role, you will oversee the Center’s financial operations, including:

• Grants, contracts, and annual budgets
• Multi-year financial planning
• Partnering with Center leadership to turn complex financial information into clear insights
• Guiding spending decisions and supporting responsible management of research funding

The Center’s portfolio includes studies and programs funded by:

• National Institutes of Health (NIH)
• Rural Health Transformation Program
• Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI)
• USDA
• HRSA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business/related field PLUS (4) four years of grants management or finance/accounting experience OR High School diploma plus 8 years relevant experience.
• Experience with grant budgets and administration
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
• Advanced Microsoft Excel user
• Effective Workday user
• Strong executive function, including critical thinking, strategic mindset, logical reasoning and excellent problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal & organizational skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in groups
• Skilled in taking initiative and maintaining flexibility
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-directed and able to work independently with good foresight

Requirements

• Certified Research Administrator (preferred)
• Certified Financial Research Administrator (preferred)
• Certified Grants Management Specialist (preferred)
• Prior supervisory experience (preferred)
• Experience in academic institutions (preferred)
