Role Description

The Department of Economic Security, Child and Community Services Division (CCSD), is seeking an experienced and highly motivated professional to join our team as a Financial Analyst 1. This individual in this position is responsible for preparing a variety of fiscal and operating reports. Performs complex financial, fiscal, and/or economic analyses and cost analyses. Monitors budget utilization, revenues, and expenditures. Provides financial expertise to department and program management and to federal and other grantors, including budgeting, cash management, reconciliation, and compliance with state and federal regulations. Develop and present financial reports on an annual, monthly, and ad hoc basis. Identify, research, and analyze possible impacts of proposed or pending federal and State legislation, policy changes, or funding modifications. Will act as a point of contact for the Finance and Accounting Unit and serve cross-team task groups as necessary.

This position may offer the ability to work remotely in Arizona only based on the department's business needs and continued meeting of expected performance measures. No out-of-state remote work.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or business administration with a specialty in accounting, finance or economics from an accredited college or university; OR a Master of Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field such as accounting, finance, or economics from an accredited college or university.

Requirements

• A valid Level One Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute 41-2758.07 in order to work with children or vulnerable adults.
• Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.
• Successfully pass background and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.
• If this position requires driving or the use of a vehicle as an essential function of the job to conduct State business, then the following requirements apply: Driver’s License Requirements.
