[Hiring] Grants Financial Analyst @Carle Health

Role Description

As part of the Office of Grants Management, the Financial Analyst supports Carle Health System's externally funded programs by providing post-award sponsored project support to ensure compliance with OMB 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance as well as compliance with grant and institution specific requirements. This individual is primarily responsible for administration of various activities associated with the acceptance, monitoring, and reporting of externally sponsored awards in collaboration with funding agencies, grantee departments, program directors, and leadership. This position will utilize professional judgment, independence, and discretion to serve as a grants point of contact for Carle under guidance from the Director of Grants Administration.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with departments to establish and financially manage their grants in the Grants module of Workday.
• Work with Research and Accounting to develop and roll out OMB compliant accounting and procurement guidance and processes as needed.
• Exercise consistent and sound judgment, and apply Carle's relevant policies, procedures, and accepted regulatory practices in a deadline driven environment.
• Design and maintain various reports to effectively monitor and analyze financial data for grant accounts.
• Ensure all financial activity complies with internal and external policies and that all transactions comply with project budgets and agreements.
• Ensure the expenditures are allowable and appropriate.
• Reconcile and ensure expenditures charged to grant worktags are accurate.
• Monitor budgets, account balances, and expenditures, including ad-hoc analyses of appropriateness of expenditures on grant funds and initiation of transfers when necessary.
• Prepare financial reports and analyses to assist program directors with the administration and development of their sponsored programs.
• Alert program directors when budget revisions are needed and advise on the financial aspects of hiring decisions and major spending decisions.
• Prepare invoices and manage receivables related to subaward agreements from other institutions.
• Monitor and ensure compliance of personnel effort and compensation on sponsored projects.
• Assist program directors in meeting various internal and external reporting requirements by deadlines.
• Complete sponsored project close-out reviews and work with Accounting to close completed project accounts in a timely manner.
• Represent Carle Health during internal and external audits, in collaboration with Carle’s Accounting and Compliance units.
• Track and monitor costs of internally funded projects.
