Role Description

The Finance Research Expert will be responsible for writing finance research questions with verified, sourced answers, and checking each one against AI model responses.

• Work on questions about real US public companies.
• Write questions that require finding specific figures in various filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, earnings releases, investor presentations).
• Address discrepancies between documents, ensuring the correct figures are identified.
• Pay attention to the correct fiscal year, filing, and the latest amended version.
• Test each question against current AI models and retain only those that are answered incorrectly.
• Rewrite questions when the wording allows for multiple valid answers.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience reading US SEC filings and familiarity with US GAAP.
• Experience in one of the following backgrounds:
  • Equity research or investment analysis (sell-side or buy-side) covering US companies.
  • Investment banking or corporate development (M&A, equity capital markets), with experience in deal filings, prospectuses, ownership history, and subsidiary structures.
  • Credit or restructuring analysis, with experience in credit agreements, bond terms, and bankruptcy filings.
  • SEC reporting or audit (Big 4 audit, corporate reporting), with experience in restatements, footnotes, and how figures change across filings.
  • Corporate law or due diligence (securities law, KYC, investigations), with experience tracing entities, executives, and related parties across records.
• Comfortable reading long filings, including footnotes and tables.
• Clear written English skills.
