Role Description
The Finance Director for the Wealth & Annuity Segment is a fully remote position with monthly travel to the corporate headquarters in Madison, WI. The ideal candidate will have:

Deep expertise in annuities and/or pension risk transfer.

Strong understanding of insurance balance sheets and liability-driven investing.

Actuarial or highly quantitative background (e.g., ASA/FSA, CFA, or equivalent experience).

Demonstrated ability to apply rigorous analytical frameworks to business strategy and financial decision-making.
This position serves as the Strategic Financial Business Partner of a specific business or functional area, participating with Leadership to develop strategies and execution plans to achieve goals. Responsibilities include:

Ensuring financial rigor is consistently applied to business management.

Providing direction to finance functions within the assigned area.

Working with Corporate Finance to ensure strong performance management discipline.

Actively participating in strategic and tactical planning.
-
Identifying, planning, and executing strategic profit improvement tactics.

Providing financial and strategic support in various activities such as product development/exit strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, and transformational efforts.

Collaborating with other Finance functions for effective decision-making.
-
Leading cross-functional team meetings to facilitate information sharing and manage customer expectations.

Building and leading staff to support departmental/corporate goals and strategy.
-
Developing staff capabilities and cultivating talent for future advancement.

Identifying and quantifying critical success factors driving financial models.
-
Directing the development and maintenance of business and financial models and reports.
-
Facilitating the business management process within the assigned area.

Managing business models and plans to meet current business and financial expectations.

Driving the problem-solving process regarding financial performance variances.
-
Designing/supporting programs to strengthen financial literacy within the assigned area.
Specific to the Wealth & Annuities Segment:

Serve as a senior strategic leader within the Wealth business, focusing on annuities and pension risk transfer (PRT).

Drive growth and profitability in institutional and insurance-based solutions.

Coordinate and execute across critical actuarial and financial functions, including:

Investment management
-
Asset-Liability Management (ALM)
-
Pricing and product design
-
Capital management
-
Reinsurance strategy
-
Valuation and financial reporting
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in a Financial Discipline.
-
Master's in business administration or other education in business-related fields preferred.

Professional designations such as CPA, CMA, CLU, ChFC, CCUE, or FSA.

4-5 years of experience leading teams or providing direction to other resources.

3-5 years of experience in providing executive consultation and influencing business decisions.

12+ years of work experience in financial management with managerial responsibility in the financial services industry.

Experience with sales and revenue models, company financials, product pricing, and profitability models.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership and ability to achieve positive results through influence and persuasion.
