Role Description

The Finance Consultant will support the Contribution Accounting and Donor Financial Reporting Branch (CFORC) in ensuring accountability to donors and enhancing financial management through specialized financial reporting.

• Prepare specialised donor financial reports in compliance with donor agreements, including financial analysis.
• Oversee contribution receivables of relevant grants including cash posting, clearances, and other accounting adjustments.
• Ensure issuance and submission of specialized donor financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Empower Country Offices through development and update of donor-specific guidelines.
• Participate in discussions with relevant HQ units/Country Offices when negotiating contributions.
• Contribute to CFORC representation in the Changing Donor Landscape exercise.
• Respond to queries and provide financial information to support decisions on grant reprogramming or refinancing.
• Advocate usage of existing monitoring tools among Country Offices to improve reporting processes.
• Facilitate management of unspent balances from closing/expiring grants.
• Proceed with refunds of unspent balance in line with donor conditions.
• Provide input and process to manage standard and specialized report contribution and reporting for automation.
• Participate in testing any system change, development, or enhancement.
• Perform any other duties as required.

Qualifications

• University degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least three years of professional experience in finance or resource management, preferably in a humanitarian institution.
• Experience in preparation of donor financial reports.
• Ability to review data, identify discrepancies, and ensure accuracy in report preparation.
• Advanced Excel and data processing skills.
