Role Description

The Director of Revenue Accounting is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing revenue recognition, revenue optimization, and related accounts receivable (AR) matters, ensuring compliance with GAAP and healthcare industry standards. This role is a key cross-functional leader, serving as the subject matter expert (SME) on revenue and AR-related financial matters.

This individual will be responsible for modeling and projecting net patient revenue and facility-driven revenues, partnering with Revenue Cycle, Operations, Commercial, Legal, and FP&A to ensure contract terms align with expected revenue and financial goals. The Director will also provide strategic guidance on contract structuring, ensuring that agreements are operationally feasible, financially sound, and support revenue recognition accuracy.

Additionally, this role will oversee key aspects of AR management, ensuring that billing, collections, and cash flow forecasting align with revenue expectations while supporting the Treasury department in optimizing cash flow visibility and management, as well as driving process automation and continuous improvement.

This position can be performed from anywhere within the United States. Candidates must have reliable internet access and be able to work effectively in a virtual environment. Work site attendance may be required from time to time in accordance with business conditions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, revenue management, or financial analysis, with a strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycles.
• 4+ years of leadership experience managing revenue teams, ideally with exposure to contract structuring and revenue modeling.
• Expertise in revenue modeling, data analytics, and financial automation tools.
• Strong understanding of net patient revenue, facility-driven revenues, and healthcare financial operations.
• Experience collaborating with Legal, Operational, and Commercial teams on contract structuring and financial compliance.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• Strong financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, and data analysis skills.
• Ability to translate complex revenue and AR data into actionable insights for decision-makers.
• Experience in contract review and structuring for revenue and cash flow optimization.
• Proficiency in using MS Office.
