Role Description

The Director of Finance & Business Operations is the finance and business-operations partner to the business unit leader. The role owns:

• Forecasting and close
• Quote-to-cash
• Revenue operations and pricing governance
• Spend and procurement governance
• Controls and reporting connecting the business unit to BigBear.ai Finance & Accounting

This role is remote; National Capital Region highly preferred.

We are looking for a leader who has run the numbers for a P&L inside a federal or defense contractor and can do the same for a defense-technology product business:

• Set the forecast cadence
• Govern pricing and spend
• Represent the business unit to corporate Finance
• Stay close to billing, pipeline, and contract data

Auditability, data handling, and government compliance expectations are part of everyday delivery.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of progressive finance experience
• Demonstrated ownership of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis for a P&L
• Ownership of order-to-cash and billing operations
• Working knowledge of U.S. federal contracting
• Experience with procurement and vendor management
• Advanced financial modeling in Excel
• Clear written and verbal communication
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field

Requirements

• Manage the Business Operations Analyst and the Finance Operations Analyst
• Run the monthly and quarterly forecast and the annual budget
• Direct customer billing, contract setup, onboarding readiness, usage billing, collections, and cash application
• Run contract workflows from quote through execution
• Own what the business unit buys against plan
• Document billing, forecasting, spend, and close processes end to end
• Model the economics of GSA and other contract vehicles
• Deliver close inputs on the corporate calendar
• Own the business unit's finance systems and data flows
• Present forecast, results, risks, and assumptions to leadership
• Take ownership of current processes and lead improvements
