Role Description
As a Director of Estate Planning on the Advanced Planning Strategies Team, you'll drive estate planning education, guidance and technology adoption for EFE's planners and their clients.

Serve as the primary client-facing estate planning resource, partnering with financial planners to deliver education and strategy consultations on estate and wealth transfer, transfer tax mitigation, incapacity, business succession and philanthropic planning.

Resolve planner consultations and non-meeting requests submitted through our internal service queue, meeting defined turnaround expectations while managing a national caseload.

Review and interpret estate planning documents; coach planners on how to read, discuss and act on what those documents actually say.

Support adoption of our estate planning technology by reviewing outputs with planners, setting escalation standards and reinforcing appropriate use with clients.

Deliver one-to-many education: firmwide learning sessions, CE-credit programming, job aids and client-facing collateral that scale estate planning expertise beyond individual consultations.

Contribute to the firm's estate planning point of view and partner with Legal, Compliance, Marketing, Learning & Development and outside attorney referral partners to keep guidance consistent, current and appropriately governed.
Qualifications

JD required; active bar admission in at least one state. Advanced credentials (LL.M. in taxation or estate planning, CFPยฎ, CPA) preferred.

10+ years in estate planning and trust administration, including experience with a broker-dealer, RIA or wealth management firm.

Demonstrated ability to support a high volume of advisors or clients; comfort operating in a request-driven, service-level environment rather than a traditional practice.

Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with experience translating technical content for non-attorneys and adapting style and depth to the audience.

Knowledge of adjacent planning disciplines preferred (investments, insurance, retirement, income taxation).

This position is remote from the Mountain or Pacific time zones.

Some travel (5-10%) may be required.

Benefits

The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $175,000 โ $200,000 USD.

Final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions.

This role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
