Role Description

We're looking for an experienced Controller who is comfortable managing the daily accounting work while also helping guide the financial direction of the company. This is a hands-on position. You'll be responsible for:

• Accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, monthly financial statements, and other accounting functions.
• Working closely with leadership on budgeting, cash flow, financial reporting, and the policies and controls that help us operate responsibly.
• Bringing structure to our financial operations without making things unnecessarily complicated.
• Recognizing financial risks, identifying opportunities to improve profitability, and helping leadership make sound decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, including experience with financial reporting and accounting operations.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial statements, internal controls, and accounting practices.
• Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger accounting, and monthly close.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management.
• Strong financial analysis and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate financial information clearly to people who don't work in accounting.
• Good judgment, attention to detail, and a willingness to take ownership of the work.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
• Accounting experience in distribution, manufacturing, equipment sales, or another inventory-based business.
• Experience with inventory costing, purchasing, and multi-location operations.
• Experience improving financial processes or implementing accounting systems.
• CPA or CMA certification.
