Role Description
As Controller, you will lead our accounting function and the international team behind it, looking after the accuracy of our books across multiple legal entities, countries and currencies. Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for a predictable close, a solid control environment and clean audits in every market where we operate. You will partner with FP&A and business leaders by providing reliable actuals and helping them understand what the numbers show, while helping the team grow as the business scales.
What You'll Do

Lead accounting operations end to end, including accounts payable, reconciliations, intercompany and the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close.

Publish and maintain a close calendar the business can plan around, with clear ownership for each deliverable.

Set accounting policy and apply it consistently across entities and reporting standards.

Build and maintain a consistent control environment across jurisdictions, including segregation of duties, approval thresholds and documented processes.

Work with local advisors and internal teams to meet tax, statutory and compliance requirements in each market.

Lead external and statutory audits and prepare statutory financial statements, keeping documentation audit-ready year-round.

Provide financial reporting and analysis of actuals to the CFO, senior leadership and the Board, and supply FP&A with clean actuals for planning and forecasting.

Lead and develop an international accounting team, and drive automation and system improvements that shorten the close and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications

Senior accounting and controllership experience, including ownership of the close and the control environment.

Experience managing accounting across multiple countries and currencies, including local statutory, tax and compliance differences.

Experience leading external and statutory audits as the primary point of contact.

Experience leading managers or team leads and building distributed teams.

A professional accounting designation (e.g., CPA) or equivalent.

Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to partner with the CFO and senior leaders.
Nice to Haves

Familiarity with Quebec financial, tax and regulatory requirements, and working proficiency in French.

Experience as the senior accounting owner for multiple legal entities, including statutory filings across different countries.

Experience building and scaling an accounting function in an enterprise SaaS business, including revenue recognition at scale.

Experience using AI tools to automate accounting processes and support analysis, or curiosity about applying AI to finance work.
