Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required; CPA certification and/or an MBA strongly preferred

At least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including previous experience as a CFO, Controller, or senior finance manager

Experience in construction, specialty trades, subcontracting, or a similarly project-based industry strongly preferred

Familiarity with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and multi-state compliance requirements considered a strong advantage

Previous experience with family-owned or privately held companies preferred

Experience with Foundation software or a comparable construction ERP/accounting platform considered an advantage

Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fully remote environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Availability to maintain substantial overlap with U.S. Eastern Time business hours for collaboration with ownership and division leadership
Requirements

Oversee company-wide financial planning and analysis (FP&A), including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management across all divisions.

Provide regular financial reports and performance dashboards to ownership, translating results into clear, actionable guidance.

Oversee job costing, margin analysis, and profitability tracking by division, project, and crew in partnership with estimating and field operations.

Manage banking, credit, and surety/bonding relationships, and advise ownership on capital structure and financing decisions.

Lead and mentor accounting and back-office staff, ensuring accurate, timely financial close processes and strong internal controls.

Ensure compliance with prevailing wage, certified payroll, and multi-state regulatory requirements.

Support DBE/WBE certification compliance and related reporting requirements.

Partner with external CPA firms on tax planning, audits, and year-end reporting.

Provide financial analysis and due diligence support for strategic initiatives, including division growth investments and potential divestitures or acquisitions.

Identify and implement operational cost-control and efficiency improvements in coordination with company leadership.

Evaluate and improve financial systems and processes, including integration with the company's construction ERP, Foundation software.
