Role Description

To deliver accurate, timely, and compliant bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of UK clients (VAT and non-VAT). Reporting to the Senior Accountant feeding into the Accounts Manager, this role ensures all financial records are consistently up-to-date, hitting critical deadlines while providing high-quality support to the wider accounting team.

Key Outcomes in the First 6–12 Months

• Maintain Flawless Xero Records: Ensure all client transactions are fully recorded, allocated, and perfectly reconciled in Xero within target deadlines.
• Build Client Relationships: Establish strong, trusting relationships with your client portfolio, ensuring smooth communication and the timely collection of required financial documents.
• Support the Accounts Team: Seamlessly integrate with the UK team, reliably assisting the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager to ensure all departmental targets and statutory deadlines are met.
• Drive Bookkeeping Efficiency: Identify process bottlenecks and proactively implement smarter ways of working to increase efficiency and speed across your portfolio's bookkeeping workflows.

Qualifications

• Proven track record handling both VAT returns and non-VAT registered clients.
• Broad bookkeeping experience across a wide variety of business sectors.
• Specific, demonstrable experience managing the complexities of e-commerce bookkeeping (e.g., handling payment gateways, multi-channel sales, inventory).
• Exceptional, grammatically correct written and spoken English.
• Strong proficiency in Xero.
