[Hiring] Accounting Training Specialist @STEM

Role Description

STEM is a Software company seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join its team.

• Take ownership of STEM’s accounting training and help clients understand their accounting results.
• Strong practical understanding of retail and QSR environments, including cash-ups, tenders, banking, and tender controls.
• Good understanding of journal entries, VAT, reconciliations, and accounting workflows.
• Experience with accounting software packages such as Xero, Sage, Pastel, etc.
• Able to trace and troubleshoot transactions from STEM through to the final accounting result.
• Comfortable working with software, learning new systems, and evaluating solutions when clients have requirements involving other accounting packages.
• Provide the development team with practical accounting insight to improve STEM’s functionality and accounting logic.
• Strong communicator who can explain accounting results and issues clearly to clients.
• Willing to travel from time to time to provide in-store training as well as remote training to clients.

Qualifications

• BCom Accounting Degree.
• Registered with SAICA and/or SAIPA is preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an Accountant.
• A deep understanding of accounting principles.
• Knowledge of Xero, Pastel, and Sage Accounting Software.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with eLearning authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate or Articulate 360 is an advantage, particularly for developing client accounting training materials.
